Finally!!

Ding dong the tooth is gone! Which old tooth? The wicked tooth!

Ding dong the wicked tooth is gone!!!

Yes, it's true the tooth has finally come out! I think I probably had more to do with that than Hayden but at least it's out. She wouldn't wiggle it so I decided to help her floss each night. And each night I would catch it with the floss and tug just a wee little bit. Tonight I did that and it was hanging on by one little piece. So I tried to pull it out but it wouldn't come out! By this point Hayden was freaking out because she was hurting, there was blood, and she wouldn't stop touching it with her tongue. Did I mention there was blood? So I didn't want to mess with it anymore. I was just worried she was going to swallow the tooth in her sleep. And I was NOT, and I mean NOT, going to be looking through her poop for the tooth!!! Hayden was having NONE of leaving it alone. Long story short, I pulled the tooth. And the tooth that was causing all the problems by coming in? That sucker is already poking up through the gums!! So no extraction visits for us. And only five more baby teeth to lose. Whoo hoo!!

Welllllll, I must say right off I'm NOT a dentist.

I am however a mother.

With a child who is hurting....

Because she still has a tooth that is turned around BACKWARD in her mouth!!!

The dentist decided that the tooth DOES need to come out but they want to have it come out by itself.....FOR NOW.

They want her to wiggle it, work it, push it, shove it, force it out.

Right.

Did I mention "it huuuurrrrrttts!"? And that it's swollen?

Sooooo, if it hasn't come out in 2 weeks then we get to schedule the extraction. Oh and did I mention that they didn't do it today because it takes a while? And did I also mention that they had "a while" because their next appointment (who is my lovable B) had cancelled? Yeah.

Thanks for that dentist person! Thanks for the sleepless night that my child is having. Thanks for the weeping, the wailing, the *gentle* gnashing of teeth. Thanks for the guilt I feel for being at work while she is miserable. Thanks for the frustration and helplessness my hubs is feeling because of his daughter's suffering. Thanks for the person my child will be in the morning from lack of sleep. Thank you for all of this; we owe this all to you and your *busy* schedule; we wouldn't be doing this without you. And that my friends is the tooth; the whole tooth and nothing but the TOOTH! *mwah*

Ow, ow, ow

Hayden has been complaining about her mouth hurting for the past couple weeks.

Hasn't seemed like anything is wrong to me. Granted she did have 4 loose teeth and she did lose 2 of those and have the new ones coming in. But she was complaining about the bottom where the teeth were barely loose. She has a dental appointment tomorrow and has been really nervous about it.

Fast forward to this evening when I was helping brush her teeth (she is going to see the dentist tomorrow after all!!) and realized that one of the teeth on the bottom coming in has made the tooth next to it turn SIDEWAYS AND LAY DOWN!!! My poor baby! No wonder it has been hurting. And no wonder she is nervous about the dentist. She was convinced that she was going to be getting braces tomorrow!!

Not sure what the dentist will be doing tomorrow. Pulling the tooth maybe? Hayden is upset because I will be at work and Grammy will be taking her to the dentist. I wish I could be there with her. Sounds a lot like last Wednesday's post but there it is. At least Mom won't have to worry about Belle too; it looks like she is going to a birthday party!

So my hubs just informed me that he is glad that we never had boys.

Why?

Because apparently I get really rowdy watching football games and he feels I would have been that way watching my boys play.

NO, NO, NO!!!

I just found out that there are plans to close our local public library in February 2010!! And we're just now hearing about it!

Our library is always packed. Any season, any time of day. Kids that live right around it still bike to it. They have story times that are attended by tons of people. Schools go there for field trips. We're there at least every other week, more often in the summer. How can they take that away from our community? I understand it's about funding and everything but shouldn't there be options to save it? I don't know if there is but I'm sure gonna try to find some way to try. If you have any ideas please let me know. HELP!!
