Thank goodness!!

Hayden said the words yesterday that I have been hoping to hear ever since she decided to cheer again this year: "Mom, I'm really enjoying cheerleading so far this year (granted it's only been 3 days). I'm going to try really hard and not complain this year."

Can I get a *woot woot*?!?! (Happy dance, happy dance!)

Yes I really am that excited!! BUT....I'll believe it when I see it..or hear it....or don't hear it. You know what I mean!

Today...

is officially the start of the school year. Cheerleading camp started today. We have cheerleading things to do for the next week. That leads into Open House and then the first day of school which is 10 days away. Happy, sad, excited, nervous. That's just me. Although I think the girls are feeling about the same. I think I'll probably cry again on the first day of school. We'll see.

Things I never thought I'd hear from my two girls...

"Give me back my fart machine!!"

Is it sad that as a *mature* woman I am totally trying to convince Shalina to meet me halfway between the two of us on November 20 so that we can go to the Twilight midnight show? I'm just asking.

Visit to the O'Flaherty's House

We had so much fun visiting my BFF Shalina and her family. Our kids have known each other pretty much their entire lives so it's always a good time for the girls too. It went too quick and just when it seemed like we'd just gotten there it was time to go. There was much weeping and wailing on the ride home so I had to promise we would get together again before next summer. I think that sounds good to me too!! Whenever we are all together we always HAVE to get shots of the kids. It's so sweet to be able to look back and see how much they have grown. We spent a lot of time playing the "this time 9 years ago..." game yesterday. Why? Because yesterday my oldest baby turned 9 years old. It seems like just yesterday I was laying in Northside Hospital waiting and waiting and waiting. Until after 30 minutes of pushing and an ensuing C-Section they showed me my beautiful baby girl. So much has happened since then: moving, another beautiful daughter, growing up, getting bigger, school. It has been a wonderful 9 years. The best of my life. I was extremely blessed 9 years ago to be given a wonderful, smart, funny, sweet, sassy little girl. I can't wait to enjoy the next 9 years with her. Hopefully these won't go so fast!! ;-)

We're having...

a water-logged summer. I'm just saying. Not that I'm complaining. Not at all. Off to the pool. On Hayden's last day of being 8. Belle's whining. Did I mention some of the water-logging is from Belle crying. Yeah. That I'm complaining about.
