What was I thinking?

What made me think that having Belle help me purge her clothes and shoes was a good idea? Because it's not. Not ever. Not in a million years.

The child wants to keep clothes that she admits are too small but "they were really cute when they fit". Seriously? You're 6. Step away from the cute shirt.

No honey, if you can't get your feet in the shoes without cutting off your toes they don't fit. No matter how cute they were when they did fit.

Honey I'm sorry if it makes you sad that the pretty dress doesn't fit any more. No you cannot keep it. Yes it will go to another little girl. No sweetie we don't need to have this discussion over EVERY article of clothing.

There is no need to cry. Honestly. Mommy will stop in a minute. Maybe you should go play with your sister who is happy that it's not her closet....yet.

What the hell?

So I take my dogs to be groomed the other day.

When I drop them off I say "Will they be ready by 4:30?" An emphatic "Yes." was the answer.

At 4:10 I call and ask if my dogs were ready. I was told they were ready for pick up.

So I get there at 5:15 to pick up my dogs. I walk in and I ask for them. I'm told "I have to finish Stitch's nails and then they'll be ready. It will only take a minute."

WTH?!?

Soooo 35 minutes later Stitch's pedicure was done and we were ready to go.

And then they bring out Gracie.

Both Hayden and I freeze.

Hayden's remark: "What....?"

My remark: "What the hell did you do to my dog?"

SHE WAS WHITE INSTEAD OF BROWN! THEY HAD SHAVED MY DOG DOWN!

The girl actually stopped and said to me: "Is this not what you wanted?"

Seriously? Whatcha gonna do? Put the hair BACK on? Give her extensions or a weave? She's BALD! And there is nothing you can do to fix it!!

So now I have a WHITE dog with a brown head and tail and a tan dorsal stripe. The good news is she seems much happier without all the shedding fur, but I think she is a little embarrassed by the way she looks. Notice the PINK skin showing through on her chest?

FFR: Do NOT ask for the Furminator for little dog. GOOD for big dog; BAD for little dog. Duly noted. Sorry Gracie.

It's Official!

I am now the mother of a 4th grader and a 1st grader.

School is now out.

Yes, I cried.

Yes, we had DQ.

I can't believe how this year has flown and how big they are getting!!

This is it

Only 3 more days until the end of the school year.

Kids that won't sleep because it's only 3 more days until the end of the school year.

Things to finish because it's only 3 more days until the end of the school year.

Parties to go to because it's only 3 more days until the end of the school year.

Chances to weep because it's only 3 more days until the end of the school year.

Chances to exalt because it's only 3 more days until the end of the school year.

Two months of summer to look forward to because it's only 3 more days until the end of the school year.

Two months of summer to dread because it's only 3 more days until the end of the school year.

Did I mention there are only 3 more days until the end of the school year?

OH WOW!

That's all I can say!

The talent show was so cute!

They had 3rd grade awards before the show. Hayden found out she made the All A Honor Roll and also had Perfect Attendance which was cool!

Then came the main attraction. There were 17 acts ranging from a drum solo, piano solos, an original story reading, singing and dancing. The kids did great and I'm proud of all of them that were brave enough to get up there.

Now to my kid.... SHE ROCKED!!!

She has rhythm! And knew the whole routine even after only 2 practices with her group!! I took a few pics but mostly videoed her (I know, I know, I was shocked too!). I'm going to see how to download it and post it here for all to see.

She is truly my little Dancing Queen!!

Tomorrow is...

Talent show day!

What is Talent Show Day you ask? Well of course it's the day that Hayden is in her 3rd grade talent show. And of course this has a story to go along with it.

Sheet comes home 1 1/2 weeks ago for a talent show that had an audition last Wednesday and a show tomorrow.

Hayden says to me "I'm going to be in the talent show!"

Me: "Doing what?" (Not that she's not talented mind you; I was just wondering!)

H: "Dancing" (Of course you are!)

Me: "Which dance?"

H: "I don't know."

Me: "To what song?"

H: "A song from Mama Mia."

Me: "Which song?"

H: "I don't know."

Me: "So let me get this straight. You're doing a dance you don't know...to a song you've never heard....from a movie you've never seen?"

H: "Well, yeah." Accompanied by an eye roll and a shoulder shrug.

Sounds about right to me.

No Rain

But now I'm glad!

Field Day was fun, exciting, tiring, really hot and humid. But the kids had fun. I had fun. And I am now home trying to unmelt myself and relax prior to pick up time.

It's the weekend, it's the weekend! Doing the weekend dance over here!!! But it's making me sweat again. Gotta sit down and just *chill*!
