We took the van on Monday to have "deer damage" fixed. They told us it would be ready by Friday. I thought I'd be able to handle living out of a smaller car. I mean until we got the van I drove the Accord daily and loved it! Not so anymore! Its too small, the kids have to climb over each other to get out/into the car at school, the kids are too tall to have the front seats pushed back to normal level without enduring tons of kicking, it doesn't have heated seats (and in this weather, my bum is bumming!!), I can't haul the dogs around and the XM doesn't always work. Those are just a few reasons I want my van back. So Friday was the light at the end of the tunnel, right? Wrong! Andy got the call today that there was more damage unearthed when they started taking the car apart (dumb deer) and it won't be ready until NEXT WEDNESDAY!
**GASP**
Yeah, those deer have a lot to answer for.

A rant....if you will
Alright, frankly I don't care if you're an Obama fan or not (I'll keep my opinion to myself) but I have a HUGE complaint. So bear with me while I step up onto my soap box.
Here goes:
I paid for my daughter to have a hot lunch yesterday. She is quite a picky eater so everyday we have to go over the menu to see if it will be something she will want to eat. Yesterday was chicken sandwiches, a personal fave of hers. So I pay the money. Then her school decides that EVERYBODY will eat lunch in their classroom so that they can watch the inauguration speech AND that instead of giving our children nice hot lunches they will give them sack lunches. Which my child will not eat because it is a turkey sandwich. So instead of a nice hot chicken sandwich (WHICH I PAID FOR) my child ate an apple. Yes, that's it, an apple. A pretty expensive apple when you think about. Which, as you can tell, I have.
Other than that, I have nothing to say about the day. I'm done.

Dumb Deer
So I was driving home from work last night. It was about 1:45 in the morning and I was assaulted by a herd of deer!! Okay, so it sounds funny now but let me tell you last night it was anything but! A herd of 5-6 deer came busting out of the woods at the side of the road. As I tried to slam on the brakes one dashed in front of me. A second one plowed into my car at the front driver's wheel well. A third plowed into my driver's side door. The rest ran behind my car.
The one that hit my driver's side door bounced off the car, jumped up and ran off with the rest of the herd.
The one that hit the wheel well bounced off and was rolling around on the side of the road. I was convinced I was going to have to call 911 to come put down this deer. About that time the deer staggers up and stumbles around a bit. Shakes his head like a football player who was hit helmet to helmet. And runs off after the rest of the herd. Dumb hit and run deer.
Of course I'm totally freaked out and called Andy. What I didn't realize until I got home is that I couldn't open my driver's side door and the front quarter panel was shoved up against the tire (hence the scrubbing noise that I heard on the way home...hmmmm). My wonderful husband came out and freed me from my car and was able to pull the quarter panel out from the wheel so that I can still drive it. Now its on to car repairs.
The deer herds have taunted me for years on my way home in the middle of the night. They've even run in front of me on the highway where we've played a scary game of chicken, but nothing like last night. In case I didn't say it before: DUMB DEER!!!

Things get back to Normal
Well, its official: the holidays are over. I know this because my children have moved on to looking forward to their birthdays and the tree is finally down and packed away.
It is with bittersweet emotions that I reclaim the space of floor which has housed our Christmas tree since the weekend before Thanksgiving and the table where the manger has sat for the same amount of time. It's amazing how much that can really drive it home that the holidays are over. *sigh*

Yoga
That's all I have to say. Okay, its really not all I have to say but it is a great place to start.
We've kicked back in with the Tony Horton 10 Minute Trainer DVDs. The past few days have been all about cardio which is nice. But today was yoga and I love the way I feel after yoga! Now that's all I have to say!

Diet and Exercise
So the resolutions have started and believe it or not, so far, I have stuck with them! I have started the diet again and have kicked the exercise program into gear. I'm not going to mention my starting weight here because that is just crazy! However, I'm down 3 pounds people!!
I'm doing my 365 days of pics. No real exciting ones as of yet, but its all about keeping the discipline of doing it. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to post each day but we'll see. Of course it does still count when I took pics on New Year's Day and the card wasn't in my camera, right?!!? Yes, I did that!! I'm not gonna lie. Very embarrassing but true. I got a new digital photo frame for Christmas and had put my card in there to enjoy all my Christmas pics and there it stayed when I went to my parents to do New Year's and a late Hanukkah. So those are all mental pics.
As to the scrapping, I've been working on cleaning up my scrap room so I could get in there and scrap. Does that count? With all the "holiday projects" the girls have had, and all the scrap supply borrowing they did, my room is in shambles. So clean up and then scrap, scrap, scrap.
As to the barn resolution? Give me some sun people!! It's been raining so much here that I'm convinced God is trying to resolve the drought this winter. I'm okay with that because it will be wonderful when the summer gets here and we actually have a lake in the back. But, its made it hard to get up to the barn. I'm hoping that now that the girls are back in school we may have at least one or two days of sunshine so I can get up there. I'm gonna keep that one too!!
