An Eventful Day

And I missed hearing all about it in person because I was at work.

I did however get a blow by blow description (no pun intended) of Belle's "massive" nosebleed and Hayden's "horrible" bleeding mouth followed by another lost tooth over the phone.

Sometimes (read: most of the time) I hate having to work and leave the family at home!! I love when I pick up the girls from school and I get to hear all about their days! Of course that is when the bickering starts; but it's also when I get to reconnect with my girls, hear about their day, school, their friends, lunch, tests, problems, accomplishments, issues, etc. It is our time and when Andy asks how was your day and they say "Ask Mommy" I know how their day was.

Please let that continue into their middle and high school years! And please let me not miss too much on my work Wednesdays!

No chirping tonight.

Zora ate that chirping sucker today.

Thank goodness.

Aw man!

I worked this weekend.

Zora needed more crickets.

Andy and the kids went to get them.

The crickets they got chirp.

Not a big fan of chirping crickets.....in my house.

The good news:

1: I didn't have to go to PetSmart to get them.

2: They got them predusted with calcium (keeps me from having to dust them every day).

3: The way Zora's been putting away the crickets they'll be gone soon.

Oh my!

Insomnia is working overtime tonight. Watched The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Wow! That show is a total train wreck. All I can say is: Oh.my!

Seriously?

I've found that in the past 2 weeks I have learned more about bearded dragons than I ever thought I needed to know.

I know about basking lights, UV lights, night lights, cool zones, basking zones, rocks for their toenails, newspaper over sand (can give them an impaction when they're little; just in case you're wondering!), thermometers, hydrometers, crickets, calcium, Flukers, food, lizard poop (only every other day; sweet!), holding times (can't hold them after they eat; messes up their digestion!), misting, soaking.

You name it, I've learned it. So it was with great pride and joy that we noticed that Zora was shedding her tail skin.

Yes, this is a good thing. It means she is growing and happy. It means I'm doing a good job taking care of my daughter's lizard. So imagine my laughter when we're discussing her growing and being healthy and Hayden turns to me and says, "I guess I'm a really good lizard keeper". Seriously? Of course I looked at her with a perfectly straight face and said, "Yes honey, I guess that means YOU are an excellent lizard keeper". Mom of course is just chopped liver!

IT'S GAME DAY!!!!

I love weekends in the Fall!!

I love Buford Wolves Friday night football. 35-7 last night over North Hall!

I love Buford Rec Football Games for the girls in the morning and Auburn football in the afternoon. One game down today and one more to go. Auburn plays after that. Of course I have to work tonight but we'll overlook that.

I love Pro football on Sunday. Once again there is work, but overall the good outweighs the bad.

I'm healed!!

Well, at least I feel better. And that is a huge leap from where I was earlier this week. I was finally able to emerge from my bed during the day today, other than to pick up or drop off my kids. It may not sound like much but when you're able to sit up in bed without being dizzy for the first time in 3 days? Yeah, you're thanking your lucky stars!

Andy update: hasn't gotten sick. Working, working, working. Excited that football season has started. Can't believe the girls and I want to drive to North Hall to see Buford play tomorrow night but will still probably go with us. Still can't believe there is a lizard in our house as a pet and that he has to catch the uneaten crickets at the end of the day and put them back in the cricket keeper. Hey! I'm not gonna do it! Gross!!
Girls update: haven't gotten sick. Hayden finished ITBS testing with no obvious ill effects. Isabelle is kicking along and enjoying 1st grade. Cheering is going good. Go Wolves! They're starting piano next week. Hayden wants to be able to write music to go along with the songs she writes. Belle just wants to be able to play and this is a stepping stone to the guitar so she can "be a rockstar"!
Dog update: Gracie had an escape episode earlier this week, she tunneled her way outta the joint but was apprehended quickly. Stitch is Stitch: just possibly the best dog ever!!
Dragon: has seemed to almost double in size since we got her last week. She likes to watch us as we move about the house. She will crawl into your hand if you put it in there for her and will eat out of your hand too. Loves to stalk crickets but doesn't like to be watched while she does.

Just normal, typical goings ons in the Wiggs' household. Except that I'm pretty sure I almost died from the Strep Swine Influpneumonia. Okay, maybe not. But I am pretty sure that it was touch and go for a couple days. Phew! Glad that's over with! ;-)
